ABOUT VAN L. DAVIS

I have extensive research and analysis experience in higher education policy and administration, including institutional development and state formula funding practices. I am a recognized national expert in competency-based education as well as distance education policy and pedagogy. As a civil rights historian with a Ph.D. in history from Vanderbilt University, I believe that the astronomical cost of a college education is one of the biggest 21st century civil rights challenges that we face.In addition, I am a trained group facilitator who is adept at both facilitating large and small group discussions around controversial issues. I also have extensive presentation experience as a teacher, facilitation trainer, panel moderator, and have experience testifying in front of governement committees.
