ABOUT VLADIMIR POL

I have worked as a journalist for fifteen years, mainly in the field of international current affairs. Outside the EU, I follow events closely in regions in which I have either lived or stayed for significant periods of time: southern Asia – in particular Pakistan –, Mexico, the United States and Japan. The years I spent with pan-African weekly Jeune Afrique have also given me an in-depth knowledge of that continent. I take a particular interest in- European integration, especially the Green Deal and issues relating to the Union’s strategic autonomy - alternative energies -the reduction of inequalities - innovative representative democracy, including the impact of citizen participation - forms of authoritarianism arising in the two Asian giants (China and India) and in Russia I enjoy an atmosphere of debate, and count both document drafting and working in a team as among my strengths. I am also something of a stats and graphs enthusiast. I now aim to bring my skills and experience to bear on advancing a reflection on international questions within an international organisation, a government body or an NGO.
