WORK HISTORY
Architectural Designer @Lemay
Toronto, ON, CA
As a Designer at Lemay, I have gained valuable experience working across diverse project typologies, including multi-family residential, mixed-use, commercial, office, institutional/recreation, and urban master planning across markets in Western Canada, Ontario, and Quebec. In my capacity as an Architectural Designer / Intern Architect, I have actively contributed to various stages of the design process, including procurement, contract award, schematic design, and design development.Beyond design, I have extended my support to business development strategy, marketing/communications, graphic design, and advocacy as the Toronto/New York regional representative for the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Justice (EDIJ) Committee. This multidisciplinary involvement has provided me with a holistic understanding of architectural practice and enhanced my ability to contribute across various facets of project development and firm-wide operations.Simultaneously, I have actively engaged with FLDWRK, Lemay\'s research armature, to research inclusionary climate design and adaptive reuse opportunities. This has involved investigating intersections with finance, policy, and governance, showcasing my commitment to staying at the forefront of architectural innovation and sustainability.

ABOUT VIVIAN TON
Architectural designer with a background in critical urban studies, spatial storytelling, and systems thinking. Trained through both studio practice and research, I bring a human-centred, inquiry-driven approach to design: exploring how space, identity, and infrastructure intersect. My work moves fluidly across scales and mediums, from built environments to digital interfaces and narrative systems. I’m especially drawn to projects that blend aesthetics with purpose—whether through UX, creative strategy, brand, or policy—shaping experiences that are both thoughtful and transformative. Whether mapping complex systems, designing environments, or framing narratives for impact, I aim to bring clarity, care, and cultural sensitivity to every detail. Currently I am building VIEM, a design house crafting sensory architecture and ritual objects for emotional resilience.
