ABOUT VIVIAN BERNAL-GALEANO

I am passionate about biological interactions and how they inform the cooperation between science and society. Nature is a source of infinite possibilities, its study and responsible use contribute to social, environmental, and economic benefits. I want to contribute to interdisciplinary projects that use science-based knowledge and innovative technologies to satisfy the needs of society.My expertise includes host-microbe and host-parasite interactions. I have experience in molecular biology, microbiology, plant biology, and plant microbiome. My passion for interdisciplinary projects and pursuit of answers to tough problems have led me to scope and de-risk opportunities for start-up development, assess the economic benefits of plant genetic diversity and its use in the real world, and explore synthetic biology for improving agriculture. I am skilled in managing projects, lab and field work, teaching and mentoring young people, communicating science, and working with the community.I am an enthusiastic, curious, and resourceful person. I like to consider the big picture while working on solving problems from new approaches. I hold a high capacity for adaptability, analytical thinking, and constant learning abilities.
