ABOUT VIVIAN YI

I am a Genomics Specialist in the Singh Lab at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in the Department of Immunology, Center for Systems Immunology. I conduct experimental molecular genomics and immunology research; I primarily utilize CRISPRi in activated human B-cells to understand genomic variation and transcription factor specific gene regulatory network dynamics. My endeavors are driven by genuine curiosity, passion, and authenticity. My primary strengths include my independent nature, excitement towards challenges, natural organizational and leadership skills, and strong personal integrity. I want to do my best to help society by conducting thoughtful and ethical scientific explorations. I aim to investigate the interdependent relationships between neuroscience, immunology, and genomics with the help of machine learning and computational tools, to answer outstanding basic biological questions. To wit, I want to ask creative questions and perform purposeful perturbations to contribute pivotal scientific findings that advance medical discoveries and improve patient care in a holistic manner. I also enjoy writing, endurance sports, classical piano, sketching, reading, and art history. Contact me at: v•••@pitt.edu
