About Vivian Workman
A recent graduate with a Bachelors in Science in Psychology and Biology from Honors Carolina at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I aim to pursue a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Integrating innovative technology into psychological research, I gained experience in human subjects research as a research assistant at the Family Journeys Co-Lab in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, where I assisted a study examining whether self compassion could be increased by Virtual Reality technology. Beyond the protocol development and data collection phases of research, my research experience was also enriched by co-authorship of a published paper examining the association between biomarkers, allostatic load, and psychosocial stress. My research interests include trauma and post-traumatic growth, self compassion and mindfulness interventions, technological interventions, and physiological biomarkers. My clinical experience includes serving those affected by sexual assault and domestic violence through Safe Alliance, a nonprofit based in Charlotte, NC.
