I lead CCSU\'s Department of Journalism, which was created Jan. We\'re a hub of activity with local publishing partnerships and an active international component. We emphasize basic shoe leather reporting but actively embrace the changes in the field, encouraging students to get experiences that will help them create the profession\'s future. As a scholar, my research specialties are audiences and meaning-making, journalism as information work, American political discourse around capitalism and race, and methodology(qualitative and grounded theory). To practice what I teach, I also take on a couple of journalism projects a year. I view journalism as a good model for problem-solving and continuous learning and strive to inspire students toward that.Like us on
