Cyber Security Consultant Engineer Intern

During my cybersecurity internship at 360 Degree Group, I helped scan and map network vulnerabilities with Nmap, Nessus and OpenVAS, then used Metasploit to test real-world exploit scenarios. I assisted in crafting risk analyses that guided our system hardening updates, and co-developed incident-response and disaster-recovery playbooks—including recovery objectives, chain-of-custody procedures, and escalation steps—for use across all business units. On the SOC team, I monitored Splunk and Elastic SIEM alerts, correlated data from firewalls, endpoint agents and cloud services, and escalated confirmed security events. I also met with clients to walk through our findings and recommend remediation plans. These efforts helped accelerate our median resolution time by 25% and deepened my skills in threat detection, security policy design and client communication.
