Vivek is a strategic thinker and a transformative leader with an engineering PhD, a finance MBA (Booth-Chicago), and over 25 years of global O&G major experience. He made a deliberate pivot from manufacturing, investment planning, supply-chain and process safety/risk management domains to data, digital & agility over the last decade, to support the IR 4.0 modernization of bp.Vivek currently leads large and diverse global teams in pursuit of digitally enabled transformation (modernization) of business. More recently, he has been spearheading the business use-cases utilizing the bleeding edge technologies, such as the Gen-AI assistants and agents - integrated with business workflows, delivering the ‘force multiplier’ augmentation of the engineering domain expertise. He specializes in both IT & OT domains, cloud computing, data securitization, workflow digitalization, AR/VR technology, machine learning for process safety and predictive maintenance, advanced data analytics, and AI/ML.Vivek has enabled a value-impact equivalent of $200 million profitability improvements. Much of this delivered over the past decade, via strategic business transformation, through the at-scale deployment of data analytics, AI/ML and workflow digitalization tools. Value impact manifested primarily via cost avoidance or reduction, increased human productivity and process safety.In order to accelerate the transition to AI, data and digital domains over the past decade, Vivek has also completed MIT and MIT-Sloan certifications in big data, data science, and AI/ML for business managers. He is also certified in agile methodology (scrum product owner), facilitation & coaching.
