Developed Ab Initio graphs to extract, validate, cleanse, and transform data from multiple external sources, ensuring data quality before loading into staging and temporary databases, while supporting business-critical ETL workflows for a major financial client by collaborating with business analysts and operations teams to maintain production stability, optimize performance, and enable seamless integration across Teradata, Snowflake, and the Ab Initio ecosystem. The main challenge was the lack of documentation of the existing process. Designed and developed generic, reusable Ab Initio graphs using PDL and metadata- driven approaches to support conditional processing of varied file formats; conducted detailed analysis of existing ETL processes to enhance overall dataflow architecture and performance. Built and optimized Change Data Capture (CDC) and Slowly Changing Dimension Type 2 (SCD2) graphs to efficiently manage incremental data updates in staging databases; contributed to finance domain data pipelines, enabling timely and reliable reporting for downstream systems. Developed, deployed, and performance-tuned ETL graphs in Ab Initio GDE, implementing parallelism techniques for parallel processing to maximize throughput and aligning job schedules with business SLAs. Executed data loading, deletion, and backfilling in Snowflake and Teradata to maintain data consistency, while collaborating with L1/L2 support, onsite teams, and stakeholders and authoring SOPs and technical documentation for smooth handovers.
