ABOUT VIVEK LIMBAVALI

IBM has given me a platform to learn and strengthen my skills to stay in the software industries food chain. I was working for Software support team as a SME for IBM Websphere MQ product and Internal Audit application. I was there to work on scripting(in unix), deployment and support activities or to address any issues/concerns that arouse with respect to those packages. However during the last couple of years of my work, while I was working on MicroStrategy BI tools, I came across the term \"Big Data\" and wondered what this is? The research in figuring out the terminology lead me to pursue my Masters of Science in Business Analytics and Certificate in Applied Statistics at Cal State East Bay. The course work I am undergoing as part of this program has exposed me to world of Data Science. I now apply my skills in python, R, SQL, Tableau and Business Intelligence in database management systems, data analytics, data mining, data visualization, data warehousing R programming and Statistical learning subjects. I intend to gain expertise in SAS programming and ANOVA by the time I graduate. Recently I have obtained an interest in learning Hadoop and MapReduce technologies using Java, Pig and Hive. I am also hoping to get a sound knowledge on the same.
