About Vivek Kumar Barnwal
I am currently employed with VIT-Vellore as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Before this, I worked as an PostDoc Researcher in GIFT, POSTECH, South Korea. In my Ph.D. work, I studied the forming behavior of aluminum alloy sheets. The project included conducting range of experiments for conventional forming and incremental sheet forming. These experiments were further simulated in an FEM package. Comprehensive mechanical, microstructural and texture characterization was performed to understand the forming behavior of the material. I also have worked in area of metal castings of superalloys in HAL-Bangalore for one year. I enjoy learning about new manufacturing processes.
