   THE CONTAMINATION OF THE TUNIA RIVER AND ITS IMPACT ON THE ENCIRCLING COMMUNITY During my internship with the Bongaigaon Municipality office, I had the opportunity to delve into the critical issue of the contamination of the Tunia River and its profound impact on the surrounding community. Through this experience, I gained valuable insights into environmental challenges and community engagement.During the internship, I actively participated in various research and fieldwork activities aimed at understanding the extent and sources of contamination in the Tunia River. I collaborated with a team of professionals, including environmental scientists and local community leaders, to conduct water quality assessments, sample collection, and analysis.By closely studying the river ecosystem and its surroundings, I witnessed the detrimental effects of pollution on both the environment and the well-being of the community.
