The first time I felt the thrill of engineering was in elementary school, when I fixed my teacher’s pencil sharpener. A piece of lead had jammed the blades, and using another pencil, I dislodged it, restoring it back to perfect working order. That small moment taught me something powerful: I love diagnosing problems, building solutions, and seeing the results come to life.That mindset has guided my journey through Purdue University’s Mechanical Engineering program, where I’ve embraced roles that demand creativity, experimentation, and hands-on precision. Whether prototyping a cardiac bioreactor to support fibrosis research or machining aerospace components on CNC mills, I thrive when bridging design with execution.In my research roles, I’ve tackled everything from optimizing bioreactor membranes to amplifying torque for prosthetic ankle systems. I’ve used tools like SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and ABAQUS to iterate designs, validate performance, and meet demanding specs. At the same time, I’ve applied programming in Python and MATLAB to automate simulation workflows and inverse kinematics, because to me, engineering doesn’t stop at the physical; it’s about systems thinking.Outside the lab, I co-founded and led Purdue ASME’s Mars Rover team, securing funding, recruiting members, and overseeing subsystem design for our CIRC competition debut. That experience taught me just as much about leadership, collaboration, and navigating ambiguity as it did about differential bars or rocker-bogie suspensions.Even in my downtime, I’m building. I crochet, I design costumes, and I love crafting, whether it’s with fabric, filament, or wood. I see engineering as one expression of a broader creative drive that spans both logic and aesthetics. I bring to the table a builder’s mindset, a researcher’s discipline, and a collaborator’s spirit.
