They are responsible for facilitating smooth transitions of care between providers, ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate care.Adhere to HIPAA regulations by protecting patient privacy and security within the Epic system.Receives referral requests from providers.Verifies patient demographics and insurance information in Epic.Enters referral details into Epic, including diagnosis codes, reason for referral, and necessary documents.Prioritizes referrals based on urgency and medical necessity.(STAT, Expedite)Obtains prior authorizations from insurance companies as required. Schedules appointments with specialists or other healthcare providers using Epic\'s scheduling functionality. Coordinates with the patient\'s primary care provider and the specialist\'s office to ensure timely appointment.By adhering to HIPAA rules and guidelines.
