ABOUT VISHAL MAKODE

I build ML and data-driven systems that have to work in the real world, not just look good in demos. Most of my work sits where machine learning, data science, and robotics overlap. That means dealing with noisy sensors, incomplete data, latency limits, hardware failures, and business constraints, then still shipping something reliable. I’ve spent years turning raw data from cameras, touch sensors, motors, and logs into systems that make decisions on factory floors and robots, not dashboards alone.Recently, I’ve been working on industrial automation and robotics platforms. That includes things like- Deploying computer vision models on edge devices to inspect parts moving at production speed, hitting ~97% accuracy at 30 FPS, and cutting manual inspection time by ~78%- Using Bayesian optimisation (Gaussian Processes) to tune robotic assembly parameters, reducing physical experiments by 70%+ and pushing first-pass yield close to 99%- Building data and ML pipelines that continuously collect, retrain, deploy, and monitor models running on real machines- Coordinating dozens of robots in parallel, where milliseconds of latency and small errors actually matterAlongside robotics, I have a strong data science and quantitative foundation. I’ve worked on forecasting, optimisation, and statistical analysis problems in supply chains and operations, built “what-if” analysis dashboards for decision-makers, and used data to answer questions like: What changes throughput? Where is variance coming from? What’s worth optimising next?I have completed certification in Quant Finance, which has sharpened how I think about probability, uncertainty, and optimisation beyond standard ML metrics.Technically, I’m comfortable moving between Python, C++17, SQL, cloud infrastructure, and embedded systems. I like owning systems end to end: data collection, modeling, deployment, and long-term performance once they’re exposed to reality.I’m most interested in problems where ML, data, and quantitative thinking directly influence physical outcomes or financial decisions. If you’re building systems that actually have to run, fail, recover, and scale, I’m always happy to talk.
