About Visakha Som

Visakha Som is a management professional who has over 10 years of experience working with local behavioral health and social services nonprofits in the areas of program management, operations, fund development and evaluation. Prior to working in the nonprofit sector, Visakha held management roles in small businesses. Visakha recently graduated with a Master of Public Administration and was selected by faculty to represent the College of Health and Social Services as the graduate hood recipient. Visakha knew early on in her life that she wanted to help people. Born in California, Visakha spent her formative years in Cambodia where she was exposed to the traumas of the recent civil war, extreme poverty and social injustices. These experiences have inspired her to dedicate her life to empower communities that have been marginalized. Visakha\'s personal mission is to guide mission-oriented organizations to reach their maximum potential in providing high quality services to individuals, families- and communities and to inspire and lead generations of leaders to continue promoting positive social change. She is a firm believer that promoting positive social change is a dynamic process that requires dedication, collaboration, compassion and integrity.
