WHAT I DO I came to Akin Gump as a Senior Policy Advisor after serving for nearly 13 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, most recently as the Chief of Staff for Rep. Cedric L. Richmond (D-LA), former Senior Advisor to the President and Director of White House Office of Public Engagement, the former Assistant to the Majority Whip and former Chairman of the CBC.As the liaison between Rep. Richmond and two presidential administrations, including all federal agencies, I have become known as a skilled strategist with a strong history in navigating complex organizations, building relationships, and pitching winning value propositions to secure stakeholder buy-in.I advise clients on their strategic engagements with the Biden White House and Administration, and the Congress. I have broad experience with issues before the House Energy and Commerce, Homeland Security and Judiciary committees, with an emphasis on health care.
