About Viran Lingala
Hi, I\'m Viran Lingala, a Software Engineer at the University of Maryland (UMD) and the Laboratory for Physical Sciences (LPS) Qubit Collaboratory, where I develop software to automate quantum measurements and support cutting-edge quantum research. My work bridges software engineering, AI, and quantum computing, driving efficiency and innovation in experimental science. Currently, Iām focused on designing automation pipelines and data acquisition frameworks that accelerate quantum device characterization and streamline measurement workflows in the lab. Previously at UMD, I contributed to full-stack quantum control systems, building interfaces for qubit manipulation and measurement automation to enhance scalability in quantum experiments. During my time at Clemson University, I leveraged Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to automate literature analysis for material growth research, enabling rapid discovery of novel fabrication processes and hetero-material growth techniques.š§ā Alongside my research, I served as a Graduate Teaching and Grading Assistant, mentoring students in Electrical and Computer Engineering courses and helping them strengthen both theoretical and practical skills.Iām passionate about applying AI for scientific discovery, building intelligent automation systems, and integrating software, physics, and data-driven intelligence to push the boundaries of next-generation technology.
