Thermal System Project- Engineered the control software development of an electric hyper-car thermal system within a team of 3 people. Work products included manual and automatic cabin climate control, battery cooling and motor cooling algorithms- Developed diagnostic software for failure mode mitigation, supported by appropriate driver information messages and error logs- Thermal application software was written for an OpenECU M560 hardware with MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow. Assisted in deploying generated C-code and performing Hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) and vehicle level testing- Successfully tested cabin comfort at 50 °C and -10 °C with varying humidity and solar loads- Responsible for unit testing and higher-level functionality testing for non-thermal software. Fuel Cell Project- Presently developing control software for a 335-cell hydrogen fuel-cell stack and it’s Balance of Plant (BoP) with a team of 4 people- Responsible for implementing the cathode loop (air-supply) control software with PID loops for compressors and valves. Other notable features include the fuel cell diagnostic software, with membrane flood/dry detection, and fuel cell powerup and shutdown process for both the anode and the cathode loops- Successful implementation of CANopen protocol for controlling Burkert 3285 valves. 8 valves were used in total- Lead project coordination efforts on Jira for task tracking, requirements management, codebase management and customer review meetings- Application software developed on an OpenECU M560 hardware with MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow toolchain.Hydrogen Combustion Safety Software Review- Analysed software requirements and architecture for an application software focusing on a bespoke dual-fuel delivery system – hydrogen and diesel- Discovered key gaps in areas such as diagnostics, hydrogen leak detection and power-up sequence.
