ABOUT VIRAF SAM CHAPGAR
A strategic hospitality and business leader with over 8 years of experience spanning North America, APAC, and the Middle East. My career has been shaped by leading regional initiatives for the world’s largest hospitality company, scaling entrepreneurial ventures, and building global partnerships that drive both commercial performance and innovation. In Hong Kong, I was part of Marriott International’s Planning & Services team. Our internal consulting team partnered with APAC leadership and discipline heads on high-impact regional initiatives across 22 brands and 780+ hotels. My work included shared services design, organizational restructuring, and financial planning, as well as the rollout of revenue management solutions tailored to deliver both expertise and cost savings in complex and remote markets. From there, I broadened my scope into entrepreneurship and emerging industries. I founded and scaled Thermaliving, a cross-border wellness and lifestyle brand that became a trusted partner for Airbnb hosts, luxury cabins, and resort operators across North America. In parallel, I held executive roles with Steam Exchange, a Canadian web3 startup, where I helped grow a community from 250 to over members, contributing to a USD $50M+ platform valuation, and built partnerships with organizations such as the University of Waterloo and the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development.Beyond the roles and numbers, what defines me is my global perspective. I began my schooling in India, attended high school in Dubai, studied in the United States, completed an internship in Bahrain, and built my career across Hong Kong and Canada. These experiences have made me culturally nuanced, highly adaptable, and analytical, while also giving me a strong appreciation for diverse perspectives and the opportunities they create.I continue to seek opportunities where hospitality, strategy, and innovation intersect, contributing to global growth while working with teams that value creativity, collaboration, and impact.
