Review client RFP package (drawings, specifications, etc.). Coordinate with sales team to develop the bid strategy. Perform preliminary designs (thermal S&T HEXs)(mechanical, ASME Sec. Div1) and fabrication plans for proposed equipment. Obtain relevant material and service quotes from vendors. Complete equipment fabrication estimate. Develop the technical proposal sections. Work with outside sales lead to complete commercial sales sections. Correspond with the clients after proposal submission to address questions/clarifications and proposal revisions etc… Kick-off and support awarded projects. Prepare project release documentation to effectively communicate project execution strategy and all requirements to the project execution team. Provide ongoing support the project execution team throughout the project as required to ensure successful projects. Perform mechanical design of shell and tube heat exchangers/pressure vessels, review equipment BOM list and generate fabrication man-hour and material cost estimate Identify change to scope, offering more competitive design/price during bidding stage by using a strategic approach working closely with BD Manager/Inside Sales Manager. Reviews, queries and understands the scope of work, specifications / standards along with contract price form, unit rate and lump sum breakdown. Conduct regular shop visits during quotation to fully understand equipment fabrication, scope of supply and to further improve man-hours, pro-service hours, and cost estimate. Ensures estimate cover both known and yet to be designed/ finalized scope to eliminate any progressive growth in budgets. Prepare material quotes for submission to material vendors, bid enquiries for sub-contracted scope, and estimates for consistency in terms of most efficient price and delivery. Co-ordinates bid inputs from design, cost estimate and proposal preparation. Prepare basis of bid, benchmarks, unit rates and other comparisons.
