As chief scientific officer at Adesis, I provide scientific and discovery guidance on the company’s chemistry operations. Also advise clients on their project’s medical chemistry and biology. Clients come to Adesis when they have complex chemistry problems that require creativity of thought. That includes rapid turnaround response, exemplary scientific acumen and minimal logistical issues, all within budget.Over the past 15+ years, I have extensive experience in developing high-performing research organizations, fostering business expansion by continuous improvement in R&D processes, by promoting cross-functional collaboration between scientific, non-clinical, and manufacturing staff, and leading organizational restructuring/turnaround initiatives.Evocative Career: Built four biotech start-ups, driving innovation and scholarship in anti-infectives and other therapeutics throughout career (with 70+ patents, 70+ peer-reviewed publications, and membership of NIH study sections). Spearheaded the growth of Adesis from a small medicinal chemistry and process chemistry contract research organization (CRO) into an organization of 100+ employees with pre-GMP support capabilities. Established and grew Limerick BioPharma into a biotech venture by leveraging pharmacological insights of first-in-class semi-synthetic natural product lead molecules, securing $45M in series A-C funding.
