Oversee end-to-end accounts payable and payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.• Manage full-cycle payroll processing including calculating wages, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings in accordance with federal and provincial regulations • Review and approve vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment runs while maintaining strong internal controls to prevent errors and fraud • Reconcile payroll accounts, benefits deductions, and remittances to CRA, ensuring deadlines for source deductions and T4/ROE filings are met • Partner with Controller and leadership to align payroll processes with compensation changes, new hires, terminations, benefits enrollment, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations • Analyze AP aging reports and cash flow forecasts to optimize payment timing and maintain positive vendor relationships • Develop, implement, and continuously improve payables and payroll policies, procedures, and system configurations • Coordinate year-end close activities including T4 preparation, accruals, and audit support for external auditors • Maintain and update employee records, HR policies, and the employee handbook in compliance with employment standards legislation• Identify and implement process improvements and automation across payroll, AP, and HR workflows to increase efficiency and reduce risk
