ABOUT VINCENZO BACCI

Dr. Vincenzo Bacci was born in 1949 and graduated in 1974 from the 6-year Program of Medicine and Surgery of the Catholic Medical School in Rome. He did his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Lutheran Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio and then completed a 2 year Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the State University of New York - Downstate Medical Center / Kings County Hospital in New York becoming Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism. He returned to Italy in 1982 and entered the private practice of Endocrinology, Internal Medicine and later Nutrition in Rome with admitting privileges at the Rome American Hospital. He became part of the staff of S. Spirito Hospital in 1986 and moved to Policlinico Umberto I University Hospital in 1991, where he was a consultant for the bariatric surgery center. He retired from the Hospital in 2011 and continues his private practice. He has been lecturing and teaching for several insitutions,such as \"La Sapienza\" University, Campus Biomedicus, Hospital Medical Shool of Latium and New York University. He is an active participant in professional organizations, member of AACE and AME and became Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology in 2005. Dr. Bacci has published 24 scholarly papers, 5 book chapters and 20 abstracts in his specialty, has lectured widely and appeared several times in TV talk shows about obesity and nutrition.
