   Responsible for overseeing matters relating to the business and legal affairs of The Echo Design Group, Inc, Monsac International, LLC and EDG Retail One, LLC.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Confer with management and employees on matters involving legal interpretation and decisions related to corporate activities, policy questions and operating problems.Direct and participate in the research of state and federal legislation and administrative and court decisions; investigate legal problems and make recommendations.Receive and investigate inquiries from corporate management and employees including, but not limited to, matters relating to manufacturing requirements and importation law, labor law, insurance, risk management, patents, trademarks and copyrights, contracts and corporate policies.Coordinate activities and actions with outside counsel retained to represent the corporation.Serve on corporate committees to provide recommendations regarding applicable legal matters. Recommend operational changes necessitated by legislative mandates; develop alternative policies and procedures to enable the corporation to accomplish its objectives.Coordinate, through accountable management personnel, the establishment of major schedules, task assignments and allocation of staff and equipment to aid and foster corporate legal activities.Review, negotiate and draft a wide variety of effective business contracts and intellectual property licenses with third parties.Provide counsel to executive management on dispute avoidance, resolution and commercial law.Monitor and protect the corporations worldwide intellectual properties including trademark and copyright registration, licensing and infringement issues.Advise management on the legality of contemplated actions.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:Works closely with all Vice Presidents and management to assess legal issues and formulate policies.
