ABOUT VINCENT MERCIER

18 years of experience in the management of a business line, multidisciplinary project management, and structural design in hydropower. Currently works in the field of renewables. Vincent has experience in a variety of fields as a structural engineer and a multidisciplinary project manager. His experience covers R&D, greenfield, brownfield, as well as operation support projects, which allows him a rare perspective on the challenges for the entire lifecycle of a hydropower scheme. Through his academics and his experiences, Vincent has acquired some knowledge in the fields of geology, geotechnical, hydraulic and hydromechanical engineering in addition to his specialty in structural engineering. Vincent has obtained a certification as a professional project manager (PMP) issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Vincent has worked on projects located in almost every region of the province of Quebec, in several other Canadian provinces as well as in many foreign countries in Africa and Asia. Furthermore, he has worked for various types of clients, private and public, investors, operators and contractors. These experiences allow him an insight on the motivations of most of the usual stakeholders in the hydropower business. His experience also covers the complete range of services typically offered by an engineering firm, from pre-feasibility and desktop studies to construction follow-up. Under his supervision, teams are able to achieve and sometimes surpass the objectives of projects with ambitious budgets and schedules. Currently leads a growing team with an ascending reputation.
