ABOUT VINCENT MARTIN

Spacecraft Operations Engineer with experience on next-generation nanosatellite constellation, legacy medium-sized platforms, interplanetary payload operations & mission operations software development.I am currently working at the French Space Agency (CNES)\'s Satellite Operations Department as a Consulting Engineer for Capgemini Engineering, on the Lauch and Early Operations Phase (LEOP) and In-Orbit Validation (IOV) of the 5 launches constituting Kinéis\' 25-satellite IoT & AIS constellation. The launches are spanning from June 2024 to March 2025.I am also part of the team that operates the international scientific PROTEUS-platform satellites SMOS, Jason-3 and formerly Calipso; respectively partnerships with ESA, NOAA/JPL and NASA.From Sept. 2021 to Feb. 2023, I worked as Payload Operations Engineer at CNES\' SISMOC Operations Center, on SEIS and APSS instruments onboard NASA\'s InSight Mars lander, that permanently shut down in December 2022.I also worked as an intern on mission analysis for ESA\'s EnVision Venus mission at Thales Alenia Space, and JAXA\'s Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) mission at CNES\' Flight Dynamics Department. My Engineer education at Technology University of Compiègne (UTC : Université de Technologie de Compiègne) offered me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge by taking Engineering-related classes, as well as human sciences classes, to complement the practical development and programming skills I gained through my Two-year Technical Degree (DUT Informatique). Finally, as part of my curriculum at UTC, I did my own research on the subject of the hybrid rocket engine in March 2019. I am proud to be the Founder of what this research has turned into: the UTC Rocket Propulsion Laboratory (URPL), partnering with CNES and ArianeGroup. This structure works on the POLARIS Hybrid Rocket Engine Project, of which I have been the Project Manager until late 2021. I have accompanied more than 40 students over 4 semesters through the Polaris project, aiming to develop a 10 kN engine to power a sounding rocket up to 20 km.My two semesters abroad, at the Québec University in Chicoutimi (UQAC, Chicoutimi, QC, Canada) and Politechnika Krakowska (Cracow, Poland), helped me broadening my point of view and developing a new mindset through the discovery of two radically different cultures.(Profile translated as far as I could, the remaining parts are due to LinkedIn itself).
