I play the bagpipe at various police first responder and military events with the San Jose Police Emerald Society Pipe Band. I also instruct student pipers and help with fundraising at the various Society events. It is a volunteer organization that celebrates the Irish history of the police in the United States, honors the fallen officers and assists their families. It promotes the Celtic heritage and works to keep the fallen officers memory alive. It is a 501(c)3 organization and has its own officially recognized tartan.
