About Vincent Derkacht

As a Kid I spent a lot of time online. I didn\'t fit in at my Fairfield, California high school and was often ostracized by others. Suffered in Silence Every day, I struggled with depression and had trouble leaving my house at times. I couldn\'t get past the feeling that I wasn\'t good enough. Meanwhile, I had a friend who introduced me to jazz music. I devoted my time to learning and playing music and, in the process, learned valuable communication and leadership skills. I gained more confidence, which affected all other areas of life. One Day One day, I had finally graduated college at the top of my class cum laude. I was walking down the aisle with thousands of people and my friends and family cheering me on. I felt so many emotions; I felt happy, shocked, and in disbelief. I had made it to the top despite all of my struggles and setbacks. I was finally here and that energy felt amazing. After graduating I started teaching music. However, I realized that teaching music wasn\'t exactly what I wanted. Pivoting to my passion I loved the feeling of being in a team and working hard together to meet goals, such as getting a killer setlist for gigs and working on songs together. But I didn\'t want music to be my job, but I knew that I still wanted those elements to be in my career. At this point I started looking towards digital marketing. I had always known that I needed to learn marketing in order to advertise myself and my music, however I didn’t realize how enjoyable and fulfilling it could be! My Purpose I joined apprenticeships like COOP, externships like Kepler Academy, internships at Super Purposes, and teaching Digital Marketing to hopefuls at COOP as well! My time creating projects, working with across multiple teams crafting campaigns, building community, and pushing SEO and SEM to the max has made me realize that this is exactly what I love. I continue to learn more and want to keep pushing myself in this field as it truly fulfills me! Today I feel alive every day, I get up filled to the brim knowing that each day is a gift. I play music every day, cook new recipes, climb new peaks when I go hiking, walk my dog, push myself to be healthier, work on new bouldering climbs, and smile ear to ear whenever I am with my friends and wife. I am happy going into work knowing I am doing EVERYTHING that fulfills me!
