Assesses the performance of other pilots during normal line operations. The checkride is to determine if pilots are adhering to regulations and company procedures, ensuring safety and standardization within United Airlines. The line checks are conducted in the aircraft during actual flights generally from the jumpseat on the flight deck. Also selected to give quality control evaluations (QC-LCP) to other Line Check Pilots promoting standardized training and safety. Part of the QC job is also to mentor and train new Line Check Pilots (LCPs).Appointed by the FAA to give initial United Captain evaluations (ILI) and determine their overall command presence prior to completing airplane initial training.
