ABOUT VINAY SHASHANK

I am an experienced Analytics professional with 6 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Database Management. I am currently engaged with Cognizant Technology Solutions as a Data Engineer, working on Capital One’s Fill The Lake initiative, an enterprise-wide effort to migrate data to Hadoop.I have a Master’s degree in Business Analytics and Project Management from the University of Connecticut, School of Business. During my masters, I studied different topics in the field of data analytics like statistical modeling, data mining, marketing and digital analytics, financial analytics and optimization techniques. Before coming to UCONN, I was engaged with Tata Consultancy Services, working for the Risk and Acquisition team of a Fortune 10 financial services client. I was helping them make better business decisions and meet the business and regulatory objectives by drawing actionable insights from the data.I’m a passionate programmer and I enjoy working on the collection, processing, analysis and visualization of large data sets using different tools and big data frameworks.
