About Vinay Kumar
I’m a Principal Engineer (SDET) leading automation initiatives that enable engineering teams to deliver software with speed, stability, and confidence.As part of the central automation team, I’ve architected and built the common automation framework in Java now becoming the standard across the organisation. This framework integrates seamlessly with our CI ecosystem, helping multiple teams onboard their service-level test suites into Nitro, our centralised CI platform.My experience spans backend engineering, automation architecture, and CI/CD systems integration. I’ve developed multiple FastAPI microservices that power org-level operations, including CI orchestration, OKR management, and Jira automation, and have deployed them in Kubernetes clusters using Helm charts and Jenkins pipelines.Additionally, I’ve configured and rolled out SonarQube for static code analysis across projects, ensuring quality and compliance are embedded at every stage of development.With over 50+ services onboarded into our automation ecosystem, my focus is on scaling test infrastructure, improving developer experience, and integrating observability and intelligence into every step of the delivery pipeline.Currently, I’m exploring the convergence of DevOps and Generative AI in Quality Engineering leveraging AI for test generation, coverage optimisation, and intelligent failure analysis to make automation systems self-evolving and insight-driven.
