About Marta Vila Garrido
Hi, I\'m Marta—a software engineer and data analyst with over 3 years of experience in Python, SQL, and Excel. By day, I transform numbers into meaningful insights, and after hours, I empower underrepresented communities to launch tech careers. My background includes natural language processing, international education, linguistics, and translation. As a woman, immigrant and career changer, I couldn\'t be more proud to create opportunities for underrepresented folks in tech. This is how I advocate for diversity and representation in the industry, and how I show up for my tech community. Most recently, I\'ve had the honor of serving as a board member at Per Scholas and Director of Programs at Latinas in Tech. I share my expertise through public speaking and technical writing. I\'ve presented at conferences like Grace Hopper and AWS re:Invent, and served as panelist for organizations including SeaCiti, the Seattle Office of Economic Development, and Per Scholas. I was also selected for New Stars of Data 2024. Always eager to explore new opportunities, I welcome collaborations, partnerships, and speaking engagements. For more insights, you can find my latest articles on my Medium account (https://medium.com/@marta.vila.garrido).
