ABOUT VIKRAM CHANDRASEKAR

I am a Senior Reservoir Engineer with 14+ years of experience in reservoir simulation, modeling, and subsurface evaluations across unconventional shale, offshore developments, and energy transition projects. My career has been defined by solving complex reservoir challenges, optimizing production, and advancing projects that bridge traditional oil and gas with low-carbon solutions. In my most recent role with Repsol’s Low-Carbon Solutions team, I led reservoir engineering for a major offshore CCS hub in the Gulf of Mexico. My work doubled forecasted CO₂ injectivity through simulation-driven optimization, supported EPA Class VI permitting, and contributed to a DOE CarbonSAFE proposal that secured $64MM in funding. Previously at Computer Modelling Group (CMG), I completed 25+ consulting projects for global operators across shale, offshore, and mature assets. These included well spacing optimization, history matching, EOR feasibility studies, and geothermal energy assessments. What I bring to every role is the ability to deliver measurable value across multiple domains: Conventional & Unconventional Development: Expertise in shale reservoirs (Permian, Utica, Haynesville, Bakken), reserves estimation, completions evaluation, and production optimization. Energy Transition: CCS hub development, geothermal feasibility, hydrogen storage evaluations, Class VI permitting, and DOE funding proposal support. Technology & Analytics: Proficiency in CMG, SLB, and Petroleum Experts tool suites; certifications in Whitson+ and ComboCurve; advancing Python, SQL, and data science skills through an M.S. in Analytics at Georgia Tech.Beyond technical delivery, I thrive in multidisciplinary teams — collaborating with geoscience, drilling, facilities, and regulatory specialists — and have a strong record of knowledge sharing. Over my career, I have taught 100+ training courses worldwide, mentored engineers, and partnered with R&D teams to test, benchmark, and deploy new reservoir simulation technologies.I am motivated by opportunities where I can apply reservoir engineering expertise to maximize recovery, advance energy transition projects, and integrate analytics into decision-making. Open to roles in both traditional upstream development and low-carbon initiatives, I bring adaptability, technical excellence, and a commitment to long-term asset success. If you’d like to connect about opportunities in reservoir engineering, field development, or energy transition projects, I can be reached directly at v••••••••@gmail.com.
