Developing a 3D Biomimetic Lung Organ Tissue Equivalent Model for Fibrosis ResearchAs a Ph.D. candidate at Wake Forest University, I have developed a cutting-edge 3D biomimetic lung organ tissue equivalent (OTE) model to study lung fibrosis—a life-threatening disease with no cure. This innovative model replicates the natural air-lung interface, offering a highly accurate platform for understanding fibrosis progression and evaluating anti-fibrotic drug efficacy.Currently, I am validating this multi-cellular model and screening potential treatments to demonstrate its reliability in predicting drug responses, paving the way for the rapid adoption of non-animal research models in fibrosis studies.
