ABOUT VIKASH KUMAR BHATIA

I have had a strong interest in the molecular world from childhood and playing with softwares has always fascinated me. This dual passion led me to pursue an Integrated MSc in Life Sciences at NISER, where I combined a strong foundation in biology with coursework in chemistry and computer science. For my Master’s thesis, I joined the Cell Biology of Ion Channels Lab, where I gained extensive hands-on experience in wet lab techniques and animal models. My growing interest in ion channels led me to explore them computationally using Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations. During an internship at NCL Pune, I further expanded into multiscale MD and contributed to the development of a hybrid MD protocol, bridging coarse-grained and all-atom simulations. Recently, I’ve expanded my skill set to include Machine Learning, aiming to extract deeper insights from complex biomolecular systems. I\'m now seeking PhD opportunities in membrane and protein biology—ideally combining experimental and computational approaches—to uncover new molecular mechanisms and push interdisciplinary boundaries. Let’s dive together into the molecular world through simulations, experiments, or even something entirely new.
