ABOUT VIKAS PULICKATHADAM
I am an Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Florida with hands-on experience in UAV and aircraft preliminary design, aerodynamics, and engineering analysis, complemented by a background in software development and data-driven problem solving.My technical experience includes low-Reynolds-number UAV aerodynamic design, where I applied thin airfoil theory, lifting-line theory, and drag polar analysis to evaluate performance and stability. I have developed analytical and numerical models in MATLAB and Python, validated aerodynamic behavior using XFLR5/XFOIL, and designed full aircraft geometries in SolidWorks with an emphasis on manufacturability and aerodynamic efficiency.In addition to technical design work, I bring strong systems thinking, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills. As a Design Team Chair and Finance Chair within a professional engineering organization, I have led interdisciplinary teams, managed technical and financial trade studies, and supported structured decision-making processes.I am currently seeking aerospace, UAV, controls, or simulation-focused internships where I can apply skills in aerodynamic modeling, preliminary design, MATLAB/Python analysis, and engineering systems development, while continuing to grow as an engineer in a fast-paced, technically rigorous environment.
