From the time I was a small child, speaking in front of an audience was a very major fear and something that I always avoided. I felt scared of the very idea of public speaking. But when I joined a Communications role, I finally realised I had to confront this fear. When I came across Toastmasters, I felt as if this may be the solution to my issues. From February 2018 till now, it\'s been a great journey, slowly overcoming one of my deep fears. Along the way I won Best Speaker and Best Table Topics Speaker Prize a total of 19 times (so far), second prize at the Club-level Humorous Speech Contest 2018 and spoken to audiences exceeding 60 people at a time. I have achieved Competent Communicator Certification, the Advanced Communicator Bronze certification and now the Advanced Communicator Silver. I have been an emcee at the Division contest of Toastmasters, with over 200 people present in the audience, and was appreciated by one and all. But more than the prizes (though those are really nice :)) what has really been enjoyable is reducing my fears, learning from very good speakers and trying to give value to the audience in whatever way I can. I think public speaking is a gift to the audience. I sincerely thank Toastmasters for their support to me, especially Toastmasters community of Pune.
