About Vijay Karthik Venkatasubramanian
My research is mainly focussed on the application of numerical methods and optimization in the design of RFID tags and in the receiver decoding of Block Turbo Codes over AWGN and BSC channels. I currently focus on the design of high frequency (ISM 57 - 64 GHz band) Chipless RFID tags and the design of low frequency (ISM 868 MHz, 915 MHz, 2.4 GHz, and 5.8 GHz bands) antennae. I also have a deep understanding of communication standards like BLE, WLAN etc, with hands-on experience in implementing them on ARM SoCs.Experience with Method of Moments and FEM-based antenna analysis along with a deep understanding of signal space methods (Hilbert Spaces, Computational methods, etc,). My other expertise is in the application of these in mmWave Radars and Signal Processing. I have experience in working with state-of-the-art COTS RADAR devkits and processing information from them. The information can be from a single channel ADC (Hilbert transform) or from a dual channel ADC with I and Q signals (FFT analysis). I am a very avid coder with over hours of experience in working with MATLAB (signal processing, communications systems, antenna and phased array toolboxes), over hours of experience with Python (numpy, scipy, scikit-learn and scikit-rf). I have also developed firmware using C on Nordic Semi\'s ultra-low power ARM BLE SoC specifically using ARMGCC. Experience in using Eagle CAD, NI AWR Microwave office for CAD and circuit simulations as well as CST Microwave Studio, ANSYS HFSS and Altair FEKO for EM analysis. NI Certified 2.5D and 3D simulations engineer.
