About Vignesh P N
I am Vignesh P N, a passionate polymer scientist with a Master’s degree in Polymer Science from CUSAT and a strong academic background in polymer chemistry from Calicut University. My experience spans industrial R&D, academic research, and computational simulations, with a focus on sustainability and materials innovation.Most recently, I worked as a Junior Researcher in the biodegradable packaging domain, where I was involved in developing starch blend-based films. My role included optimizing blend formulations, addressing processing challenges such as pelletizing flexible materials and feeding powdered starch, and evaluating barrier properties like WVTR and OTR to meet packaging standards.Previously, I served as an external project intern at NIT Trichy, contributing to a computational chemistry project titled “Understanding Thermal Resistivity of Organic Polymers with Applications in Thermoelectric Materials Using Computational Tools.” I performed molecular dynamics simulations using LAMMPS and quantum mechanical dihedral scans to understand thermal transport in conductive polymer systems.During my Master\'s program, I also completed a mini project titled “Conjugated Polymers for the Detection of Microbial Pathogens,” where I worked with MEH-PPV and conducted FTIR, UV-Vis, and PL characterizations to explore its biosensing potential.With hands-on experience in polymer characterization techniques (FTIR, UV-Vis, PL, SEM, TEM) and computational tools (LAMMPS, Avogadro, ORCA, VMD), I am eager to contribute to innovations in sustainable polymers, thermoelectric materials, and molecular simulations.I welcome collaborations and discussions in polymer science, materials engineering, and computational chemistry.
