ABOUT VIGNESH SHANKARNARAYANAN

I am a Pharmaceutical Sciences graduate trained at the interface of translational research, applied pharmaceutical development, and early-stage product evaluation. I am also a Registered Pharmacist, with a solid grounding in pharmaceutical principles that bridge laboratory research and real-world healthcare application.My academic and project experience has focused on designing and interpreting experimental studies under real-world constraints; understanding not just whether something works in the lab, but how scientific evidence informs formulation and development decisions. During my Master\'s at the National University of Singapore (NUS), I conducted mechanism-driven research on antifungal peptides for fungal keratitis at the Singapore Eye Research Institute, gaining hands-on experience in biofilm studies, assay design, and data interpretation.I have also worked on translational diagnostic development through an R&D internship at Instavet Biopharm Pvt. Ltd, where I contributed to the standardization of a urine-based pregnancy detection assay for livestock. This experience strengthened my understanding of how laboratory research must adapt to reproducibility, robustness, and field relevance.Alongside scientific training, I have explored how innovation moves beyond the bench through venture commercialization modules (TechLaunch, NUS) and entrepreneurship coursework at ICT Mumbai, developing an interest in roles that sit at the interface of R&D, strategy, and innovation.I currently serve as a Faculty of Science PG Alumni Ambassador (FPAA) at NUS, a role conferred by Faculty leadership. As part of this role, I have been invited as an alumni speaker to share my Master\'s (MPST) journey and academic experiences during official departmental and Faculty-led outreach sessions, including events open to a global audience. These engagements have strengthened my ability to communicate academic pathways clearly, represent programmes authentically, and engage diverse audiences across in-person and online formats.Beyond science, I am a trained Indian classical vocalist, with over a decade of performance experience across national and international platforms; an experience that has deeply shaped my approach to discipline, leadership, listening, and collaboration.I am exploring industry roles spanning R&D (Formulation Sciences), scientific strategy, and techno-commercial pathways within life sciences and health-tech.
