About Chenchu Vignesh Pernati
I am currently a 4th year PharmD/MS - Regulatory Science dual-degree student interested in pursuing a position within the pharmaceutical industry upon graduation. My internships and pharmacy curriculum have allowed me to develop an understanding of drug development and the stakeholders involved in ensuring a drug reaches the market. Through my previous experience within the FDA, I gained exposure to the regulatory landscape providing me with insight regarding the drug approval process. Last year, I did an internship within the clinical and quantitative pharmacology department at Vertex, working on the VX880 T1D therapy. Throughout this internship, I gained insight into the process of early clinical development and the factors involved in measuring drug efficacy. Additionally, this opportunity provided me with an understanding of the internal structure of a company within the pharmaceutical industry and has allowed me to build upon my clinical expertise. In the future, I plan to apply the skills I have gained and explore commercial roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
