ABOUT VIDYASHREE S.

I am an Indian Naval Veteran. I head the Health and safety department of the UnitedHealth Group for all Optum office locations in India. UnitedHealth Group is the largest healthcare company in the world, with revenue of $242B+ and a Fortune 4 ranking. HQ in Minnesota, UHG offers healthcare products and insurance services through its subsidiaries, mainly United Health Care (UHC) and Optum, which together serve more than 150 million individuals.As a Veteran with 14 years of service experience, I have over 22 years of hands-on experience as a leader in the health and safety and security operations. I have handled different facets of threat identification, assessment, and mitigation measures. I have served the Indian Navy and Multinational companies with diverse personnel. I am an Engineering graduate of B.M.S. College, Bangalore, 1997. I earned a Master\'s in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from SIMS, Pune, 2015.Given the services\' core values and ethos, I possess a combination of integrity, courage, clear foresight, determination, and excellent communication skills.I believe that a ship is made by its crew, and the crew is made by its master. As a leader, I strive to lead my crew from the front. I believe in happiness, so I strive to achieve an inclusive and cordial environment at my workplace by making real and long-lasting connections with the people I work with through my behaviour and actions.Over the years, I have learnt to introspect more and strive to enable clarity of vision for the business, my team, and my colleagues. I also strive to give back more to the communities at large.
