Victoria Rietig is an expert on migration, asylum, and refugee issues with 20+ years of experience, and Head of the Center for Migration at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), a Berlin-based think tank.She is the author of around 50 publications on migration, asylum, and refugee issues, and has given hundreds of presentations, invited lectures, and government briefings on topics such as migration management, migration diplomacy, asylum, returns, deportations, reintegration, resettlement, unaccompanied child migration, labor migration, labor market integration, and migration and development.She is a regular commentator of migration policies in German and international media, such as ARD, ZDF, DLF, FAZ, Welt, Spiegel, Economist, BBC, Le Monde, El País, and many others, and she served as an appointed member of Germany’s Commission on the Root Causes of Displacement, tasked to advise government and parliament. Ms. Rietig holds masters degrees from Freie Universität Berlin and Harvard University.
