I am the Lead Clinical Scientist working in the Medical Device Management Group (MDMG) within Clinical Engineering. I work with clinical teams to aid them in the procurement of medical devices, with a particular focus on the introduction of new and innovative technology. My goal is to bridge the gap between clinicians and engineering, procurement and finance.I also undertake projects with clinical teams to assess new medical devices to determine if they are suitable for clinical service within the NHS. I regularly attend national and international conferences, training courses and webinars to keep abreast of the latest developments in the industry as well as the appropriate legislation and policies.I am involved in the National School for Healthcare Science (NSHCS) Scientist Training Programme (STP), assessing final year trainees, as well as being involved in recruitment and training.I am a member of the Institute for Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) and have recently joined their Clinical Engineering Special Interest Group (SIG).

ABOUT VICTORIA KIDGELL
I am a chartered Scientist with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM). I have completed a PhD in Civil and Computational Engineering and I am currently working as a registered Lead Clinical Scientist in Medical Device Management within Clinical Engineering at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I work with clinical teams to aid them in the procurement of medical devices, with a particular focus on the introduction of new and innovative technology. My goal is to bridge the gap between clinicians and engineers, procurement, finance and IT. I am involved in projects to assess the suitability of new devices to clinical practice within the NHS. I have a keen interest in sustainability, striving to achieve the NHS Net Zero target. I have recently taken over as Chair of IPEM\'s Clinical Engineering Special Interest Group (CE SIG).I regularly attend national and international conferences, courses and webinars to ensure I stay abreast of all the latest developments within the industry.I am also involved in assessing the NHS Scientist Training Scheme Trainees at their national assessments as well as recruitment and training. I previously specialised in Biomechanical Evaluation and Function, undertaking clinical work, service development and research. I specialised in 3D clinical movement analysis and worked in a multi-disciplinary team of Clinical Scientists, Physiotherapists, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons and orthotists. I also worked in the Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) clinic, providing muscle stimulators to aid in patients in walking; typically patients who have MS or have had a stroke.I successfully completed the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Leadership Development program. During this program I completed a project to develop best practice guidelines for clinical pedobarography services.
