ABOUT VICTORIA FARKAS
Hi there! I’m currently a Master of Data Science student at UBC, with a background in Behavioural Neuroscience. Before grad school, I worked for two years in data access and management at Population Data BC, where I had the opportunity to spearhead novel health dataset integration, collaborate with researchers and data stewards, and get hands on experience with large-scale data cleaning. I’ve also had the chance to TA and be a Teaching Fellow for programming and stats courses, which taught me how much I enjoy helping others learn technical concepts.During my undergrad, I was part of the Women in Data Science (WiDS@UBC), and I really value being part of a community that supports growth and collaboration in tech and research for underrepresented genders.People often describe me as adaptable, team-oriented, and highly motivated. I love jumping into new challenges and learning from others. I’m still exploring where I want to take my career, but I’m especially interested in health research and finding ways to combine my neuroscience background with data science to make an impact.
