ABOUT VICTORIA WOOD
As the Group Leader for Downstream Process Development at AbCellera, I oversee the development, scale-up and tech transfer of high-quality antibody purification processes for early phase clinical trials. Since joining in April 2023, I have delivered on standing up the downstream lab, team and platform process, whilst also supporting external process development activities at CDMOs. I strive to lead with a focus on inclusion, strength finding, effective communication and collaboration.I have over 8 years of early phase downstream process development, protein characterization, scale-up and tech transfer experience. During my PhD in the Biochemical Engineering department at UCL, I honed my analytical skills, primarily in biophysical analysis, to assess protein stability and shelf-life, and have 3 primary author published articles. From my time at CMO Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, I also gained GMP experience, working shifts in the GMP facility, and a Yellow Belt in Lead Six Sigma, which ignited my passion for continuous improvement.
