ABOUT VICTORIA SAVIKHIN

I am a software engineer with work experience in materials science for solar energy, data processing, digital electronics, and autonomous vehicles. My breadth of experience makes me an engineering \"Swiss Army knife\" with the ability to adapt quickly to changing responsibilities. At Waymo, I work on evaluation of driving decisions by measuring, compiling, and displaying data from of simulations. My top priorities are code health (in Python and productionized SQL), user support, and statistical rigor.Previously, I worked at Synopsys on NanoTime, a software tool to simulate electronic circuit timing on a transistor level. Leading tech companies around the world rely on NanoTime as a core component of chip design.I finished my PhD at Stanford and SLAC National Accelerator Lab. The goal of my research was to harvest solar energy cheaply using thin films of organic materials such as plastics. I primarily used synchrotron (X-ray) methods with custom data processing to understand structure-property relationships. My work was highly collaborative and interdisciplinary.Prior to my PhD, I completed numerous short-term research programs across the U.S on various topics.I have independently written two open-source software packages with GUIs in MATLAB, featured in peer-reviewed journal publications.1) GIWAXS-SIIRkit: data analysis tool for X-ray diffraction data. https://sourceforge.net/projects/giwaxs-siirkit/files/2) Lipid droplet analysis program for analyzing microscope videos of cells (biology). have worked on over 20 peer-reviewed publications, with 5 first-author publications.
