Experienced Director with a demonstrated history of working in the clinical laboratory industry. Past President of Association for Molecular Pathology. Strong experience with molecular pathology coding and reimbursement having served on the AMA’s CPT Molecular Advisory Work Group and served on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Advisory Panel Member on Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory Tests. An active advocate of quality in genetic testing as having served on the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Advisory Committee on Genetics, Health and Society for the Oversight of Genetic Testing and the Advisory Committee on Hereditary Disorders in Newborns and Children. Participated in the preparation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report for Best Practices in Molecular Genetic Testing. I continue to serve on the CDC’s GeT-RM program for reference materials for Molecular Genetics. I am also interested in reimbursement. I have met with representatives of CMS and the FDA in formulating a plan for the oversight of Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs). I have served on numerous national and international committees such as the Association of Molecular Pathology’s (AMP). I am a Board Member of the National Academy of Medicine [formerly Institute of Medicine (IOM)] Roundtable Genomics and Precision Health. Skilled in DNA Sequencing, Biomarkers, Medical Devices, Oncology, and Molecular Biology. Strong professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused in Medical and Molecular Genetics from Indiana University School of Medicine.
